Cutting corners.

In their eagerness to find the recipient, and in the belief that it holds the audience's attention, platform mediums often throw out information and settle on the first person to take some of the information.

If "person A" can take some, but "person B" can take one more particular bit, the medium might settle on B who can take more. A medium might say, “If you can understand a certain percentage of information, that’s okay.”

Maybe, but is the recipient 100% sure the medium is linked to their loved one?

“Making it fit” is another way mediums shortchange Spirit. If a medium says that the communicator was “a big person” meaning size wise, but the recipient couldn’t understand that description, but could take that they had a “big personality,” the medium might latch onto that and say, “Yes, that’s what I meant.”

I'm not so sure.

Relationships are tricky. If a medium hedges her or his bets by saying “father or uncle or cousin” it means there’s confusion on the medium’s part about what kind of relationship the spirit communicator is imparting.

Maybe there was no relationship given, and the medium feels pressured to provide that information straight away. Giving a list of relationships is not better than giving none.

If you are the medium and you’re not sure, just simply say: “I’m not certain, but I feel this is your father.”

The drawing I posted above is from a communicator I drew a year ago while on vacation in New Mexico. My link was strong prior to joining the online class but by the time I presented my drawing an hour later, my attention to spirit dropped. The probable recipient could understand some things about him, but not everything.

My work was to ask Spirit to give her something that would seal the deal...what would make the recipient say, without doubt, “I know who this is!” I didn’t pursue it, unfortunately, because I was distracted at the time.

I lost my trust in the link. Getting “nos” can be very distracting, but it is our duty to pay attention to Spirit.

A year later, my goal is to strengthen my blends and enter into conversations as fully as Spirit allows. When I start listening to Spirit with an unfettered mind I can allow Spirit to overshadow my consciousness.

It is done by paying attention to the communicator, while hearing the recipient, but not focusing on them.

100% accuracy should be every medium’s goal and it’s attainable when we get out of the way and allow a natural conversation with Spirit.
