Simple eye yoga for better clairvoyance.


On your job, do you work with your eyes closed? I stand in front of a computer and use my eyes an awful lot, to view documents, spreadsheets and the never ending emails. When I greet visitors to my desk, my eyes make contact with theirs, I’m observant, I’m engaged.


It would be rude not to, don’t you think?


Working as a medium is no different. As incarnate spirits, we must filter information from discarnate spirits through our body, through our clair senses, and our bodily senses. If we keep our eyes closed, we may miss visual clues Spirit guides our eyes to, in order to provide evidence.


For example, while demonstrating survival during an online church service, I linked with the spirit of a recipient’s ex-boyfriend. After describing him, my eyes were drawn to bright orange flowers in the courtyard I saw through the window. But it wasn’t flowers her ex wanted me to remind her of; my clairvoyance showed me lovely, round oranges which he gave her for a Christmas present.


That highly evidential bit of information would have been lost had my eyes been closed.


I believe that keeping our eyes open while demonstrating or doing psychic work opens up our senses more. We don’t cover our ears, we can’t stop tasting or smelling. When we honor our vision, we appear more professional at the platform or private sitting. I prefer to keep a soft focus while I work, not looking intensely at anything unless Spirit guides me to do so.


I’ve written about my extreme near-sightedness before, but I didn’t mention the benefits of doing yoga for the eyes. Back in 1994, I took a yoga class where we were taught the exercises shown in this video. A few years later, I learned of palming in massage school. Although it makes me look like I’ve got a massive headache, I often practice palming at my desk to give my optic nerve a break.


My favorite eye yoga asanas are:
  • Roll both eyes up, down, side to side and diagonally. Hold for one breath.
  • Roll eyes up and toward the third eye. Imagine the third eye rolling down to meet your gaze.
  • Whilst palming, keep your eyes open. Now, imagine the third eye also open, but covered by the fingers resting on your forehead. Relax and let your inner vision do its thing!

Melissa West, the yogi in the video, comments that practicing eye yoga helps to strengthen clairvoyance. I feel it’s in the concentration and extraordinary use of the eyes that brings their purpose to our attention. As I like to imagine my third eye joining in, stretching its inward “muscles,” I feel that this prepares me for more concise clairvoyance.
